Strength of draft beer.
Strength of draft beer.
Somebody told me that draught beer, Anchor and Cambodia, is less than 4% but the cans are 5%, hence why he drank the cans.
Is there any truth in this?

Drink enough draft and all you do is piss drink enough cans and you fall over first and then piss yourself.

Surprised that no beer specialist responded yet, given the amount of them...Which i am not.
The marvels of acquired knowledge by travelling abroad ! The guy is either very tight on budget or really a beer lover, in which case i can't help but wonder what is he doing in this particular country.

Re: Strength of draft beer.
The draft beer I've had is generally weak, judging by its limited effect on you even after quite a lot
Now the Kampot cider at 7% I've enjoyed on my last 2-3 trips is quite different

Re: Strength of draft beer.
That sounds like a myth. In general there should not be any discernable difference in the content of draft vs cans, not sure why that would be different in Cambodia. Particularly when you consider the costs involved in making two different alcohol content beers instead of one I am inclined to think it is very unlikely. It would cost more and at what benefit to the manufacturer?
A difference of 1% is significant and would dramatically impact the taste as well.
My qualifications - I drink lots of beer. About to open one shortly.

I never drink draft beer, you can't rely on any quality.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Strength of draft beer.
I found draft weak too. Preferred cans. Just remember to give the top a bloody good clean before you drink out of the can.
Re: Strength of draft beer.
Im the opposite, i regularly consume copious amounts of alcohol, i drink cambodia as a prefered choice, closely followed by angkhor.
Draft seems to affect me way more than cans. I regularly sink 12+ cans in a day. But the same in draft and i feel rough as.
Re: Strength of draft beer.
There can definitely be a taste and quality difference. The quality difference (i.e. how old it is, clean tap) can impact alcohol content but in a likely negligible amount, definitely not 1%.
As for local beers
Angkor - hell no
Angkor Stout - Can do
Ganzberg - not a chance
Cambodia - water
Anchor - better than all of the above
When in Cambodia I would drink mostly Tiger beer and Craft beers (Cerevisia and Hops).
