Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On September 17, 2020, a 60-year-old Hollander man, GERARDUS JOHANNES MARIA JOZEF KLERX, passed away in a rented house on street 15, Sangkat Psar Kandal, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.

An American man, KENNETH FORSYTHE LEE, the owner of the house, said the victim rented his house over a year already. On September 17, 2020, the victim's neighbor called his wife and said that a smell was coming from the victim's room. So his wife told him to check at the victim's room. So he went and knocked on the door, but got no reply. He unlocked the door and saw the victim was dead in the bathroom.

After getting the information, the local police reported to the prosecutor. They collaborated with the Scientific-Technical police, the criminal police, the investigation and procedure department (Immigration Dept), and the autopsist to examine the body at the scene.
After the examination, Dr. Norng Sovannaroth concluded that the victim died of bowel cancer. The body was taken to keep at Khmer Soviet hospital. The deceased was living in Cambodia with a longterm business visa.
RIP.
