Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On September 03, 2020, at 05:20 pm, a man stabbed his girlfriend to death, and then he tried to kill himself in a house no. 2D, Borey Lim Cheanghak, Khan Don Kor, Phnom Penh. The victim was identified as Vong Malida, 27 years old, a seller. The suspect, Ek Deam Vantha, a 47-year-old man, gave himself some serious knife injuries in the neck and chest.

Before the incident, the victim and her brother collected all her stuff from a rented house in Borey Lim Cheanghak that she shared with the suspect, her ex-boyfriend. After collecting all her stuff, she prepared for a party to say goodbye to the suspect. They had been together for ten years, and they had broken up two weeks before.

The other two people were cooking at the kitchen when they heard the sound of screaming. When they went to check the next room, they saw the victim lying on the floor full of blood, and the suspect was stabbing himself. There seem to be a huge number of these jealousy murder/ suicides recently. I've never heard of anyone having a leaving (breaking up)party before.
