12 Chinese and Taxi Driver Arrested for Illegal Border Crossing
Cambodia News (Preah Vihear): On August 25, 2020, at 01:15 pm, Preah Vihear police arrested 12 Chinese people and a Cambodian taxi driver in Cheb district, in Preah Vihear, for crossing the border illegally on August 24, 2020.
According to Lieutenant Sous Sokdara, the police chief at Preah Vihear police station, the immigration office received 12 Chinese nationals, ten men and 2 women, and a Cambodian taxi driver, who were detained while attempting to cross the border from Cambodia into Laos illegally.
After questioning, the 13 people were sent to the quarantine center in Preah Vihear. It is believed that the group were attempting to return to China overland through Laos.
