What have you learnt from Cambodians that you do?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

For small cuts, cigarette ash will do. I have used this method successfully several times now.
Some people will say 'Oh yuck but it's dirty'. The freshly burnt ash is sterile because it's just been burnt.
Aloe vera is also very good. A lot of Cambodians grow Aloe vera. If it is bleeding a lot, you need to reapply and reapply and reapply.

Nobody mentions the language ?

Oh yeah, and all-year fairground rides like Koh Pich are cool and handy to have on each town (but as i'm not a mayor, can't do it in mine) so that's a pro.

And bewaring of troubled populations behaviour in highly repressed societies, especially the ones where intellectuals and artists have been wiped out. Always expect random heavy shit from any side, keep your assets close and act accordingly.

Those were specific to Cambodia, weren't requiring to be here to know that, but witnessing it gives a deeper taste to it of course.

Not the best country for discovering asia when you're a newbie travelling westerner.
