Recent pics of flooding in PP 2020
We're right in the middle of the rainy season now and in PP at least, there's been a series of strong belting rains this last week.
Some random pics I've seen on khmer FB..

There's a really crazy video going around Tik Tok too. Worst I've seen in 10 years. Water is so deep in a parking spot that all you see are the mirrors sticking up above the muddy water.
Maybe filling in all those lakes wasn't the best idea.

WOW, there are some good photographs showing the weather conditions and how people live with the rainfall and flood.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Sure, it would be much better if we all lived in a giant swamp all year round.

A false dilemma (or sometimes called false dichotomy) is a type of informal fallacy, more specifically one of the correlative-based fallacies, in which a statement falsely claims an "either/or" situation, when in fact there is at least one additional logically valid option.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 3:18 pmSure, it would be much better if we all lived in a giant swamp all year round.

A retention basin, sometimes called a wet pond, wet detention basin or stormwater management pond, is a pond with vegetation around the perimeter, and includes a permanent pool of water in its design. It is used to manage stormwater runoff to prevent flooding and downstream erosion, and improve water quality in an adjacent river, stream, lake or bay.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retention_basin
Stormwater runoff overwhelms city sewers and can damage nearby streams and rivers through erosion. Handling the stormwater near its source can save millions in costly repairs that would otherwise be directed at correcting erosion or controlling flooding. A common method for managing stormwater is to build a basin. Basins are meant to collect the water, and release it at a rate the prevents flooding or erosion.

That Rolls Royce pic is from Thailand a couple of years back isn't it? And what exactly are they trying to do, roll it over?

It is actually in Mumbai, and the picture of the woman in the yellow rain coat was taken in Ho Chi Minh City. It's amazing how keen people are to slag off Cambodia when the pictures aren't even from here.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
