This one is pretty bad. I think the worst promotions are the ones that say "Pay $100 now, get $150 bar credit" and then you pay the $100 and the bar closes down a week later and the owner disappears.

Well, you can hardly advertise free nuts with the beer, because they’re the ones doing the ordering.
I wonder if their is any direct historical connection between Cambodia and Scotland?

And there I was under the assumption that bars in Phnom Penh were doing pretty badly. I must have been wrong, if this promotion is anything to go by....

BM club is doing well. Missus paid multiples of this Corner 136 bar’s for the experience. And got to eat a hot dog and popcorn. And a security guard to escort her to and from the bathroom. The place was packed. The bathrooms were packed. I’m sure there was a ‘Jamie Lambo was here’ stamp somewhere.

There is still a strata of Khmer who still have money, and lots of it, to spend on bars and clubs.

A large chunk of foreigners don’t, unfortunately.

The restaurant across the street, which is owned by the same people, is running a pay so much up front get that plus a bit more in credit on a "VIP membership" card to use at Ostro Bistro and the restaurant at Ostro Hotel. Have been for a few months now. It was pay 100 get 200 but they reduced it. Now it's 2 for 1 if you drop 1,000 on their little card thing iirc.

A friend has been sending me promos for that place. Apparently it's Chinese owned now? Might explain it.
