Cambodia News (Kandal): On August 2, 2020, at 08:20 pm, a 29 year old woman, Eng Cheng Keang, a seller, was arrested for attacking a woman at Prek Koy police station, Prek Run Krom village, Saang district, Kandal. The victim was identified as Som Nary, 33 year old, a seller. The police confiscated 2 pieces of rocks, a motorbike plate no. PP1CK-4500, and Prius car plate SKV2A-6872.

Before the incident, the police called the victim and the suspect to the police station to stop their argument. The victim came to the police station with her husband and her mother. But the victim and the suspect couldn't stop the argument, and the two women started to attack each other in front of the police, who tried to separate them.
So then, the victim and her family took their car and attempted to leave. The suspect followed the car and and threw a rock at it, causing some damage.
Then the victim decided to go back to the police station to file a complaint over the damaged car. On the way, the suspect drove her motorbike near the car and threw another rock at the victim's car.

Finally, the local police had enough of the fighting, and they arrested the suspect and sent her (back) to the police station for questioning.

That's the second news report today that mentioned confiscation of vehicles which are irrelevant to the offence. Do they really confiscate them permanently or just for a while?

Confiscation is permanent so it seems that if you go the police station you better take an Grab!

Well, she (the "suspect") was riding her motorbike when she threw the second rock at the car, so I guess that makes it an accessory to a crime ? ;-)

I've watched several of these popo in various encounters and have laughed every time, and wondered who the fuck teaches them to apprehend a suspect. It's pathetic. On one occasion, I just went over to the scene where a violent Khmer was smashing display cases and punching the fuck out of another Khmer guy while 4 or 5 police kind of stood back and watched, without putting a hand on the guy, grabbed the Khmer in a way that physically immobilized him, and calmly told him to get out and not come back. It's really not that difficult. If I could do it alone, wouldn't ya think 4 or 5 police could synergize their efforts and control the guy? Of course, they never got close.

It's pathetic. Maybe they figure these fucks (even women) are too tough for them and it isn't worth whatever salary they're making. I don't know their reasoning for being 100 % clueless and unwilling to engage, but it's completely f'in pathetic.

Whew! Ok, I'm better now. Carry on.

Cambodia is swarming with cops. Unfortunately, I doubt most of them have ever gone to a police academy to be trained how to be a police officer. Plus, many buy their position and pay kickbacks to keep it. Except the ones out to club protesters. Those guys are well armed and trained.

In the West, the police come because they are called for some kind of trouble. So every situation they arrive in is always tense. And the danger of being wounded or killed is very real.

Different societies, different problems.

Those are usually army, not police.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
