Yes, it's well known that the haggard wives of the powerful are behind these ridiculous "morality drives". On the bright side the ban on 3G went nowhere.Username Taken wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 4:49 amQuite possibly, yes!rozzieoz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 4:22 amSo it's women who came up with this law? Where did you do your research?Phnom Poon wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 7:02 am it appears to be patriarchy, but this kind of law usually has it's roots in matriarchy

Back in 2006 as the country was gearing up for the introduction of 3G telephone networks which would bring video calling to the country, the Prime Minister banned the video calling function for fear of people using the phone for spreading porn. And, who put that idea into his head?
"The petition for its ban came from the First Lady of Cambodia, Bun Ray (sic) along with wives of several other senior government officials."

"Cambodian Prime Minister HE announced a 10-year ban on the "3G" mobile phones on Friday, after his wife Bun Rany and the wives of several other top government officials petitioned him to do so, warning that the phones could be used by women to seduce men with pornography."

We all know what happened to someone’s mistress after the wife found out, eh.
A head (Which is what she aimed for) for an eye.
(What happened to that women JB? Any further info?)

This all seems rather foolish by the ruling party.
They've got the support of the upper and middle-upper class all hemmed up.
The only thing that could upturn their rice bowls and challenge their plan for a 1000 year dynasty or whatever, is a marginalized and disaffected youth.
Why fuck with them by way of petty hemline laws?
They should just stick to ending the methamphetamine scourge and bolstering the economy and job market so that the younger generation have stability and nothing major to whinge about.

There better than the big fat tourists, that think they look fabulous in slinky dresses, with all the rolls of fat. I suppose that's why beer was invented, even fat chicks need a poke now and then, keep drinking boy's
