Police Raid Releases 3 Chinese Torture Victims from Kidnap Gang

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 30, 2020, at 12:20 am, Mr. Mao Ma, Khan Sen Sok inspector, and Mr. Houng Mengvang, the inspector, led the police forces to arrest two Chinese kidnappers. They also released 3 Chinese kidnap victims, at Borey Serene Villa, in Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

The Chinese translator said that the victims are aged between 18 to 19 years old. On July 27, 2020, at 12 am, the three Chinese victims left the restaurant where they work and they walked to their rented house. Suddenly, three Chinese men drove up and got out of a car, plate no. PP2BC-5178, and attacked the restaurant workers. Then, they handcuffed the victims and put them in the car leaving the scene.
The suspects tortured the victims and extorted a lot of money. One of the victims gave the suspects 20,000 Yuan. The other victims, who didn’t give them any money, were tortured even more. After that, one of the victims escaped and went to the Cambodian police to ask for help.

After receiving the information, the police surrounded the place and arrested the two suspects, while another suspect ran away to escape. The victims were released. The suspects and the evidence were sent to Khan Sen Sok police station to follow the legal action.

I thought they would go for high profile richer locals? Why target own race with little money! Crooks with no brains

What makes you say the victims or their families had no money? You'd have to be an even bigger idiot to go after a connected local family, especially as a foreigner.
