The deceased has been identified as Rin Narin, alias Vann, Male, 38 years old, nationality Khmer, tuktuk driver residing in Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.

According to the police, on July 26, 2020, at 14:30, the Khan Special Police Force and Srah Chak Administrative Police Force of Daun Penh District Police Inspectorate received information from fishermen that there was a floating body in the area.
The police force then arrived at the scene and searched for relatives. They met Rin Vicheka, a 29-year-old Cambodian man, who claimed that the body belonged to his brother and told the police that on July 24, 2020, at 2 o'clock, the victim, Rin Narin, alias Vann, left home for a few days after being reprimanded by his mother and the rest of the family for not helping with business. The man left the house after destroying household property.

He said that the drowned man was certainly his brother.

After arriving at the scene, through the examination of Dr. Nong Sovannaroth, Phnom Penh Municipal Medical Examiner and the Office of Technical and Scientific Forensics of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, the body died from drowning. It is presumed that he took his own life.

After the examination, the body was handed over to the family for a traditional ceremony at Pochentong Pagoda in Sangkat Kakap I, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh. RIP.
