Cambodia News, Kampot: An AMK (microfinance company) agent was attacked by unknown individuals using a samurai sword as a weapon, causing the victim to die after being taken to hospital.

The above victim is named Phuong Yang, male, 20 years old, AMK agent (Kampong Trach district), born in Bos Trabek village, Trapeang Pring commune, Teuk Chhou district, Kampot province. RIP.

According to local authorities, the attack took place at 11:45 pm on July 24, 2020 in front of Visal Guesthouse in Kampong Trach I Village, Kampong Trach East Commune. Kampong Trach District, Kampot Province.
The same source confirmed that before the incident, the victim was sitting and talking with colleagues, when suddenly six suspects on three motorcycles with swords in hand came to a stop at that point and attacked the group.
Phuong Yang was severely injured and rushed to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. The source added that after the action, all the suspects rode their motorcycles west on National Road 33 and disappeared.

The motive for the murder is not clear yet, but it is suspected that the attack on the AMK agent may have been motivated by the personal resentment of one of the gang members. Police are still searching for all those involved in the killing.
