Cambodian Woman and Western Man Suspected of Fatal Hit and Run

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 26, 2020, at 1:30 am, a Cambodian woman driving a damaged Rav4 car, with a unidentified western man as a passenger, was detained by police on street 71, Sangkat Beung Tumnup1, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh.

The police reported that before the incident, the police on patrol saw a woman driving an accidented car, so they stopped the car and questioned the driver. The woman, who was the car driver, first tried to escape and then gave the police an unconvincing explanation for the state of her car, so police took the people to the station for further questioning and confiscated the vehicle for examination.

The police say that they suspect that the woman may be responsible for an accident earlier in the evening, where a motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a car at 11:30 pm, on July 25, 2020, in Sangkat Niroth, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.

I saw online they were released after clarifying that they were not involved in a hit and run accident.

Just lols like normal wear and tear. Don’t know why the police stopped them. No doubt when the car is sold it will be a no hit one.

It's just a scratch. Nothing a little paint won't fix.
