Korean Woman Has Bag Snatched by 2 Thieves outside of Wat Moha Montrey

Reporter: The Morning Star
Tuesday 17th February 2015, 14:26.

Phomn Penh City: A Korean woman had her handbag snatched by 2 thieves riding a Step motorbike, who then fled to safety, (the victim) was riding in a remork on her way to visit Choeung Ek Lake (Genocial Center).

This incident caused a scene at 2pm on the 17th of February 2015 along Sihanouk Boulevard in front of Wat Moha Montrey, in Veal Vong Commune, 7 Makara District.

According to the driver of the motorbike of the remork he said that he had collected the Korean woman at the riverside and was taking her to Choeung Ek Lake, Dong Kao District. At the time of the event unexpectedly there were 2 people driving a Step motorbike driving very close to the remork who then snatched the handbag of the woman and then they drove off and disappeared.

Very soon after two suspects who had collect the victim’s bag in the road were detained by the authorities who brought them to ask questions. In front of the authorities the suspects answered that they were labourers who had come from getting tuberculosis medicine and they hadn’t snatched the bag of the victim, they just collected it from the road. Despite this the authorities took both these suspects and the victim to the police post to continue questioning.

The owner of the handbag informed that inside her bag she had $100 and her passport.

More detailed information will be published in the pages of the Koh Santepheap newspaper.

Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

I often wonder if the tuks are in on this, it just takes one phone call to tip off the boys.

They certainly do after hours, or at least they did in the past. No reason why that can't be the case in daylight.

Just keep the bag between your legs; not that hard.
