Compared to the typical Cambodian police, these gangsters are very smart. However, as one poster has pointed out, Chinese cops were called up and brought the locals into the 21st century crime fighting techniques. Maybe one day, foreigners will no longer just die of heart attack, drug overdose, or wind.
That’s a lot of gangsters for 1 ransom victim.
Good job to the boys in blue on stopping them.

It looks like Mahjong. I know casinos in Vegas have some special tables for Pai Gow using tiles to cater to the Chinese gamblers. Big money.willyhilly wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 3:28 pm What casino game is played on the table with the green baize top?

I’m curious; where are they now? Were they deported, and how long after this?
As the crime was committed on Cambodian soil, do they get to spend any time here, at the pleasure of his majesty, or do they get recycled in China? After all, the kidnap game seems a popular pastime with this rabble.
Is there evidence that they are even properly treated as criminals when they’re back home? Does the legal system in China exploit Cambodia, too, By using it as a means of getting these types to let their guard down?
As for intelligence, and getting caught, It feels to me like they’re somewhere between out and out thuggish behaviour, and couldn’t give a damn, and actually have a very low opinion of their host country that they feel they can operate with impunity.

It's all very vague to say the least, too many questions to be asked with no answers available. It feels like that of a cover up, these are bad criminal people, are they working alone or are they working for a boss, and if the later, of which country. It makes one wonder because the mindset of Cambodians is focused on monies, and if there's any truth in this, the gang is already back at work.

Always "hope" but never "expect".
