Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

You could start off small by collecting the ammunition those guns use, just to prove you are a riel collector.

So this is supposed to keep the drunk police or soldier from shooting his wife, mistress, or each other?

I don’t see too many articles about gun violence amongst ordinary Khmer.

Wonder what prompted this action?

Probably poaching.

Those guys look proud of their ugly guns though. I suppose they get paid something for handing them in ?

There are a couple of home made air rifles in there. Most likely primed by a foot pump.
Can't imagine they will be saving many lives by confiscating these, it takes about 3 minutes to reload and prime between shots!

I wonder if Pedro think it devalues their brand when they see some Stung Treng villagers wearing a t-shirt they're most likely trying to flog in Phnom Penh for $50 or whatever (I've never been in one of the shops, but from what I gather it's sort of a mid-priced store?).

The only ‘Pedro’ I own is a soft shell briefcase bag missus got for me to look ‘professional’. Brought it to the sex trafficking department, almost did NOT get the marriage papers. - rejected the first time.

My theory - they were looking for more tea money because I owned Pedro. That and dressed in business attire. Everyone else wore t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops.
