Re: Aussie to charge $3k for quarantine
From what I’ve been told from those of the older generations, free health care and education, generous welfare yet plenty of jobs combined with low housing and living costs and a general easy going slow pace of life is what made it the lucky country. Almost all of these things are long gone, nothing but a distant memory of the past.
Change is inevitable but it’s hard for many to see their home change for the worse!

Re: Aussie to charge $3k for quarantine
Aussies are being well trained to believe that their immune systems don't work and that only govt can protect them. I won't be surprised if most of them are never allowed to travel again except for trips to NZ.

The Australian government does not believe in treating people like responsible adults.Alex wrote:Why can't they allow people to self-isolate at home, like any other civilized country?

$3000 or pay for your own hotel isolation!
More than 63,000 people returning to Australia have been taken by police or military escort into forced quarantine since the policy was implemented two-and-a-half months ago.
Key points:June 18
The cost of hotel quarantine is now more than $118 million
More than 60,000 people have been quarantined since it became mandatory in late March
More states may soon move to charge travellers to be quarantined in hotels
But housing tens of thousands of people in what is sometimes luxury accommodation has come at a cost, with state and and territory governments spending at least $118.5 million on the programs, and the true figure is likely higher.
Good luck to all those people trying to get home with all their cancelled flights! Now this expense ?
Lucky Country.... MMMM I am not so sure anymore!

My wife said to get one of those pills that'll give me a huge hard on for hours! I brought her back some diet pills, Now I am hiding out in Cambodia for a few years until she calms down!

So many people have been breaking isolation rules even with the exorbitant fines being given out! Weather its the people just cant handle the forced isolation or its the FUCK YOU attitude of the Aussies. Or they are just Yobbo's...... people are not doing the right thing.

Victorians have been fined for breaking coronavirus rules at almost triple the rate of any other state or territory, with almost 6000 people each receiving a $1652 penalty since COVID-19 restrictions were imposed.
Information obtained by The Age shows the number of fines in Victoria is nearly three times the number issued in Queensland and four times greater than in NSW – a state with more coronavirus cases and deaths than its southern counterpart.
Victoria Police has issued 5957 fines for restriction breaches such as unnecessary travel, equating to a conservative estimate of more than $8 million in penalties.
Civil rights lawyers say the disparity in numbers could mean Victoria has been overpoliced during the lockdown period.

So, is it that there too many yobbos in Victoria, or are the Victoria police particularly zealous ?Civil rights lawyers say the disparity in numbers could mean Victoria has been overpoliced during the lockdown period.

So, basically, you are saying that the Victorians who are spreading the virus are "doing the right thing" ? Never mind that they are fking it up for everyone else ?Dunderhead wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 12:38 pm Only well trained sheeple believe the obeying lockdown is doing the right thing.
Can you give a reasoned argument for your opinion ?
