Cambodia News (Kandal): A 21-year-old woman, Heng Sombath, was arrested for scamming a PassApp tuk-tuk driver on July 3, 2020, at 09:30 am, in Prek Pak village, Saang district, Kandal. The victim was identified as Khun Limkheang, a 30-year-old man.

Before the incident, on July 3, 2020, at 8:10 am, the suspect called the PassApp tuk-tuk for a ride, and she agreed to pay 60,000 riels for the round trip to Chbar Ampov market.
First of all, the woman went into the market, and the victim waited for her outside, but then, she came back and told the tuktuk driver that she forgot some stuff (like money) at home. So, she borrowed the victim's phone to contact her husband and also borrowed 30,000 riels. She told the victim she would give him all the money when they get back to her house. Then, she went back into the market and never returned.

Then, a few days later, on July 8, 2020, at 9 am, the victim saw the suspect on another tuk-tuk, so he caught her to send to the police station. The suspect confessed to police that she had "borrowed" a phone and money from the victim. She also admitted that she has scammed many tuktuk drivers like this.

The suspect has been detained at the police station for case preparation following the legal procedure.
