Is $3000 deposit also paid for 16-17 yo children with parents?

Post by basta.binici »

Is $3000 deposit also paid for 16-17 yo children with parents? A barang friend will come to Cambodia soon. I mean if a family come here through plane to PP, do they need to pay the deposit for the kid under 18?
Can they get a visa at the border or do they need to get a visa from the embasy?

There are no VOAs, visas issued on arrival. Your friends will have to apply at a Cambodian embassy. However, they are not issuing tourist visas at the present time.

I believe under 5 they don't charge but above that they do. based on a friend who's family came through this week. 3 yr old no charge, 9 and 11 yr old it was required

That said they got a letter of guarantee which sufficed in place of the deposit and no deposit was actually taken in the end.

Seems the holding accommodation you are placed in for the first 24 hours is dependant on the airline you take. They arrived late evening and ended up spending 36 hrs instead of 24 (2 nights).

From what they said it was not too nice and food was terrible

I will confirm what others have already said

- Yes, they will all be charged the $3000 deposit. Recent reports indicate that infants are exempt, but there is no official guideline on the ages.
- No they cannot get a Visa on Arrival. They must apply in advance from their nearest Cambodian Embassy, Tourist Visas are not available so they will require supporting documentation to apply for an E-type Visa.

There are several hotels designated as approved quarantine facilities, the hotel you are placed in for the initial waiting period is not based on the airline, it is based on availability. It also appears from all reports that the initial hotel would be the same hotel you would spend your 14 day quarantine in if 1 or more pax tests positive. The time you spend in the hotel initially will depend on how long it takes for all of the test results to be processed from your flight - some are reporting less than 24 hours, others up to 48 hours.
