18YO Girl Student Killed by Hit and Run Driver in Phnom Penh

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On June 27, 2020, a car driving fast crashed into a motorbike, killing a beautiful girl and injuring a man, on the corner of street 143/310, Sangkat BKK, Phnom Penh.

The hit and run accident victims were identified as Kri Sokdalen, an 18-year-old girl student at Toul Tumpong school (died), and Teap Kimheng, a 20-year-old man, a football player (seriously injured).

After the accident, the car drove away without stopping to check on the victims. The police checked the accident scene and are searching for the car responsible for the accident and the driver. The girl's body was returned to the family for funeral preparation. RIP.

The family are distraught as they begin the funeral rites for the young woman who was killed by a hit and run driver. Many of her friends have posted condolences and messages on social media.
The hit and run driver is still at large.

How could it be the motorcyclist's fault that the car driver fled the scene and didn't hand themselves in to police?

How could it be the motorcyclist's fault that the car driver fled the scene and didn't hand themselves in to police?

Common sense would tell you, human protected by car metal or motor metal protected by human, which would result in a more serious consequence?
Especially during the night, as you could see from the photo, those youngsters have no fear and each night you could hear all the loud motorcycles speeding off...

I think he means the football player might have been the motorbike driver (perhaps driving recklessly and car hit them). We don't know either way, but reports indicate the car driver was at fault so I'd go with that unless there's evidence otherwise.

Lovely girl, Not good. Car undoubtley at fault, Long straight Quiet street behind Olympic stadium. Car was booting it. No real details yet. Sounds like drunk fuk rear ended bike, hence passenger dead. RIP way too young to die. Hope they get them,.. but as previous post said it will be setteled with cash for peanuts!!
