I am coming back with 13 grand and 2 blank passport pages plus 1 ("blank" page where my old stamp fell off).

Hoping for the best, but this shit-hole of a country is completely infected. Florida has zero ICU beds available in 57 hospitals.
just how many ICU beds are there available in Cambodia?

Would be far less safe to get Covid in Cambodia than a Western nation, I'm sure.
If Corona virus transmission takes hold in Cambodia, they won’t have enough hospital beds let alone ICU beds. Even if they did, the medical care is still far sub standard to international standards of care.

Currently those with Corona and who display symptoms are taken to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital (KSFH). It has 25 medical ICU beds.

Some interesting facts to consider:
The Cambodian health system is organized into three levels: central, provincial and operational district level. As of December 2015, there are 102 referral hospitals, including 9 National Hospitals, 25 Municipal and Provincial Referral Hospitals and 68 district-based Referral Hospitals.

The “flag ship” hospital in Cambodia is Calmette Hospital = it has 10 ICU beds.

Cambodia has about 0.8 hospital beds per 1000 people (Thailand for reference has 2.1 per 1000). 2016 the estimated population of Cambodia was 15.2 million (It was estimated that by 2020, the total population will be 16.5 million).

Bottom line: don’t go to Cambodia if you anticipate needing medical care. And god forbid Corona cases start spreading in this country.

During the 9th meeting of the Mekong Tourism Advisory Group (MeTAG) on Thursday, Men Phearom, Director of Planning at Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism, said that the US$3,000 deposit currently required from all visitors to the country may be abolished.

Mr. Phearom said that the Ministry of Tourism recently held talks with the Ministry of Finance in order to get approval from the Prime Minister to abolish the requirement for a US$ 3,000 deposit from visitor arrivals.

The Prime Minister has since agreed with the report, and whilst no official announcement has yet been made, Mr. Phearom said that he hoped one would be forthcoming.

Well there is someone making sense, so there is hope. after all it is a virus so terrible ,so horrendous that you need to take a test to find out if you have it.

I would like to know, with regard to the $3000 and insurance requirements, HOW MANY TOURISTS have had to be treated at a Cambodia hospital and then not paid their bills? Is the number sufficiently high to justify these ridiculous requirements and their cost to the Cambodian economy?

Most people who test positive never get sick. Some do get sick and recover in a week or two. The ones who get seriously sick and need a hospital are overwhelmingly elderly and weak people with many other debilitating diseases. This is well documented.

Didn't hear about covid victims, but there are lots of foreigners on the CEO news page with GOFUNDME pages because they are in hospital here with no insurance and no money. Not to mention the price of shipping bodies back to their country if necessary.
I get what you are saying, but if you have ever been to a Cambodian hospital, you will see straight away that they don't have room for an epidemic.
BTW only $2000 to put out now.

pretty pathetic post. You're working on the November elections or just had a few beers extra?
First of all, no tourist visa issued. This answers your uninformed blurb. Second, who told you that most people never get sick? You just made that up. Many sick people dont show symptoms and go around infecting others. Nice attitude that you diminish those with other diseases. I have a lot of elderly friends and also younger friends with serious conditions. In a world run but creatures like you there would be no place for them left.

It is this kind of Nazi mentality that puts a price tag on human life and defines who can be discarded. Dont be offended, you're ignorant and cant locate yourself within the context your mind works. Get some books, read, get a mirror and reform yourself. Disgusting.

^^^^ To be fair, Smedley is right next door in Vietnam and just wants to come over to pick up some belongings and then turn around and go back again.

And, to @Smedley, I understand your frustrations but this Covid thing is affecting many more than just you.
Cambodia is not the only country requesting a deposit be paid on arrival, nor is it the only country that may quarantine you for 14 days.
You'll just have to weather the storm and hope that the situation changes before too long.
I, personally, know of entire families that have been split up due to Covid travel restrictions, not just a travel bag or two.
... give 'em a quick, short, sharp shock ...
