Yes I do.

And there’s your challenge. Trying to sell a non working Western car in Cambodia.rubberbaron wrote: ↑ I have had MB cars E-class, ML-class for over 25 year without problems. They were all very reliable. Until I had a Khmer mechanic work on this one at one time.

Rang a few places I used to use in the UK and they’ve all said a remanufactured (Genuine MB modified) is from $800+ shipping by DHL of $150, because the post isn’t working here.

And cigarettes are $14 a pack. So what?ash333 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 1:04 am A good condition 2008ish Lexus RX400h is easily bought for £3-5k in the UK. In Cambodia a worn out 200,000 mile Prius is double that.
Also, used cars sell for much less in the UK than Europe. Partly down to the lack of RHD countries they can be exported to. There's also a lot of salt used in winter so the cars rot much faster.
Perhaps someone could find me a decent Moto for $200, in London please.
Not at all relevant.

you not thinking about going into the used car importation business, are you?
Re: Mercedes ML280CDI 2006 for Sale
That's exactly what I am thinking. I used to be a car dealer many years ago and have an ex partner in southern Spain who is still in the game, so sourcing left hand drive is not a problem. Getting them in the country in good legal order, ready for sale, is where the fun starts!theKid wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 2:01 pmask-the-expats-questions-answers/vehicl ... 38770.html

Re: Mercedes ML280CDI 2006 for Sale
So in case anyone is interested here are a couple of import duty/tax schedules.
This schedule pre-2018 issue
These were issued 2019, new ones are out for 2020.
They show the base value on which the 137.5% is levied.

What is the base value? The cost new in the country of manufacture? What about a second hand car bought on the cheap, so they except your valuation?rubberbaron wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 1:50 pm So in case anyone is interested here are a couple of import duty/tax schedules.
