People are harvesting mushrooms in Oddar Meanchey wildlife sanctuary

Cambodia News: (Oddar Meanchey): During the rainy season, from May to August, local people around the wildlife sanctuary are harvesting mushrooms and other fungi that grow in the forest, under the trees and amongst the bushes.

To harvest the fungus, they simply take a spoon or other device, scrape it, or peel the soil to find it. Each day, people can find between 1.5 kg and 4 kg, which can sell for between 25,000 and 30,000 riels per kg.

There is a very nice mushroom discovered at the famous Angkor Wat temple.

LOVED me some shrooms back in my youthful day,
oh, the memories the walls could tell.
Now days, i like a cold bottle and mushroom soup without the zing.
