Cambodia News, Pursat: On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, on the 2nd of June 2020, Pursat Provincial Police received an order from Krok district police inspector to detain the suspect, Long Vat, 49 year old Khmer male, currently living in Trapaing Romdoul village, Pursat province, on charges of domestic violence against his wife and children.

The woman told police that her alcoholic husband had no job other than to drink alcohol, and each time he got drunk he was abusive, insulting and menacing her and the children.
She said that she has finally decided to file a criminal complaint against the violent husband because the education from his fellow villagers and the police chief did nothing to change his behavior . Almost everyone in the village knows about her husband's activities, and he was known as the village drunk.
In the latest episode of violence, the man threw a knife at his wife and daughters, wounding one of the girls. The woman then decided to go to the police to get him removed from the household.
