update for visa - USA to Cambo

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

update for visa - USA to Cambo

Post by BklynBoy »

So when I was on the Embassy of Cambodia website for D.C. it always said they are currently not accepting visas at this time

but now a change!!!

it no longer says this.. Maybe I am jumping the gun.. but am going to email them for confirmation. When you click " get visa" ..it gives you the information to how to get a visa.
https://www.embassyofcambodiadc.org/how ... -visa.html

I also checked the evisa site for strictly tourist visas and it still has the image up about not accepting....

even on this site for korea... they changed cambodia info -- only arrival visa issuance suspended... you can apply in advance for a visa now it seems
https://www.koreanair.com/global/en/202 ... D7V5olpBK8

Transiting Cambodia is not allowed
• Arrival visa issuance is suspended
• Visa exemption entry is suspended
Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on taking it

There needs to be options to get tested at the departure airport somehow for countries that require the 72 hour negative test certificate. Running around to half functional clinics with bitch-shields up at 85%, then trying to make it 7,000 -9,000 miles across the world in time is fucking stupid.

Another option is the Rapid Test thats available-- which takes 15 minutes. But its not like they give you a certificate. They give you some note on doctor letterhead
This goes back to the thought about a central database. You really think when landing in Cambodia they hav a database to look up your covid test??? They are testing all of us again when we land

its possible the covid test 72 hours is to make sure you can get on at your departure airport?? if they are checking for covid tests before departing.. just a thought

but agree thats a barrier of entry 72 hours is not enough..to many variables

Notice that in addition to the web site NOT mentioning that All Visas other than Diplomatic or Official Visas were not being processed; It has removed the Tourist Visa instructions under "How to Ge a Visa to Cambodia" (https://www.embassyofcambodiadc.org/how ... -visa.html).

It makes it appear as if a single entry business visa is now being processed?
Business Visa (Single-entry Visa)
Completely filled-up and signed VISA APPLICATION FORM. - 1 copy
Attached 2x2 Passport picture (recent photo at least six(6) months) - 1 pc.
ACTUAL PASSPORT (Required)
- Valid at least six(6) months upon entering Cambodia
- Visa pages available for Visa sticker (at least two(2) pages).
- No loose pages/attachments
Letter of invitation from the Company/ Organization in Cambodia/abroad for the business trip (one copy) - For coordination, please insert contact person, email address and direct number to the cover letter.
Copy of Employment Contract
Visa fee $ 35 USD
- We only accept Bank cheque or Money Order in U.S. Dollar.
- Payable to Embassy of Cambodia
- Prepare one-cheque for group Visa request
- NO personal cheque
- NO credit card
- NO Cash

I have emailed the embassy ([email protected]) to inquire about if things have changed since Monday (6/1/2020)? I had emailed them before May 30, 2020 and got a response in 2 days (June 1, 2020):

Please note that the embassy is not accepting any visa applications at the moment. So any visa application sent in will be returned without a visa at this time.
Please check back with us later or follow our website for updates.

U Hong (Mr.)

How do you know that flights start in August? I want to look into this but am not sure where to look? News articles? Airline company websites? Government websites? 3rd party websites? Any tips would be very much appreciated!
