Sweet Talking Lost Guy Looking for Noodles Robs Gullible Woman

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: On May 29, 2020 at 4:00 pm, Pok Sokra, 23, a male construction worker, from Prey Lake village,stopped his motorbike on National Road 4, next to a woman on a motorbike who had hung her handbag from the handle bars.
The man then began to chat to the woman, and he asked her if she knew of any noodle shops in the vicinity. While she was trying to explain the address of the nearest noodle seller, the man suddenly snatched the handbag from her bike and made off with it.

The woman screamed loudly for help and passing police caught up with the suspected thief. The man was caught with the handbag in his possession and he admitted the crime. The woman's bag contained US$1600 in cash.

That's a lotta cash to have in a bag looped over the handlebars.

Perhaps the construction guy had been casing her.

Probably a local shop owner. Most Khmer have no problems carrying large sums of cash on them. Especially at holiday time or going back to the villages.

And I agree. The guy was probably casing her since she got the money from the bank or ATM.
