New Governor Announced for Kep Province

Cambodia Breaking News, Kep: It was announced last night, 27 May 2020, that Mr Som Piseth will replace Mr Ken Sotha as the governor of Kep province.The official handover will take place on the morning of 29 May, supervised by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr Sar Kheng.

Kep is both the smallest and least populous province of Cambodia. The present Kep provincial administration came under fire earlier this year, after a 7-storey building under construction collapsed killing 36 people and injuring 23 others on 3 January 2020, amid allegations of corruption. The victims' families have still not been compensated.

The "leaders" make all these claims of compensation and oknas donate but there always seems to be a hole in the bucket that drains the funds away from the intended recipients.

The only thing the sheeple remember is the offers of assistance nd the grand gestures. No one asks "did they get the money promised to them"?

Change of Team for Kep
Cambodia News, Kep: It was announced on Thursday, May 28, 2020, that along with the replacement of the governor of Kep, the Kep Provincial Police Commissioner will also change at the same time.

In this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has decided to transfer the duties and appointment of Brigadier General Sambath Sothea from Deputy Commissioner of Police of Kampot Province to Deputy Commissioner of Police of Kep instead of Brigadier General Ben Dara, who has been appointed as Deputy Director of the Border Police Department.
