VIPKid is one I hear mentioned often when teaching English online comes up.BklynBoy wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:45 pmcan you suggest some good online options to teach?simon43 wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 7:07 pm Thank heavens I gave up teaching at a bricks & mortar school.... My online teaching income increases each month, $3,000+ and only limited by what hours I'm prepared to teach. If you're teaching for a B&M school, you really need to consider online teaching options

ISPP, Descartes and EFI/CIS have maintained full salary for all staff. They are all doing distance teaching.

I list my profile on iTalki.com and that's where the vast majority of my students are obtained. My students are located worldwide.can you suggest some good online options to teach?
Be wary of Chinese online schools. They seem to be flooded with wannabe ESL teachers (nannies, babysitters etc), and pay rates have fallen.

how easy is it (realistically) to get online Tefl work right now, I mean aren't they inundated with applications due to all the job losses around the world?

Here’s a link for a bunch of options to teach English online. Includes the certification requirements and pay rates along with a bit of a description of each institute.

Not that I’ve had a whole lot of experience with this myself, I would say it depends on the country. Some you may be able to get away with a tourist visa whilst others, to stay above board, check their requirements for a work visa and submit the documents.

boy, it's kind of depressing this thread
I mean who really wants to go to a 'fun' destination just to have to sit in their room all day looking at a laptop?

Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

It is a great job. Have you ever had to sit around a Thai school all day long and get paid peanuts. I love the flexibility and make more money.
