Bringing Ghost Money Into the US?
I bought a small pack of ghost money - the fake $100 bills that locals throw into the fire to send to their ancestors - at the store. Every fake bill is marked “COPY” on the front in English and Khmer. I think it’s a cool novelty thing to have and I have zero intention to use it fraudulently, not that I even could if I wanted to. I can’t find a straight answer on the internet and was just considering taking it into the US and asking customs if it was allowable. If not and they need to confiscate it, no worries, it only cost me $2. I’d just rather be up front about it than get into any trouble. Has anyone dealt with this entering the US?
Cambodia: where money can buy you absolutely anything except intelligence.

Isn't counterfeit currency the purview of the Secret Service?

Go for the Bank of Hell bills, I'm sure the other ones will be illegal.

If its less than $10,000 you dont have to declare it. So since when do they ever want to see cash otherwise? Just carry in your wallet and alternate every other bill with real bills. Youll be waved thru and welcomed back to the US.

Give a sample as bribe money if they pull you in on entering Immigration . It'll be a great laugh to tell your grand kids!
