Phnom Penh Police Checkpoint Arrests Man with AK47
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On May 8, 2020, the police detained two men after finding an illegal AK47 gun in their car on street 271, Sangkat Toul Tumpong, Khan Chamkarmorn, Phnom Penh.
Khan Chamkarmorn police in collaboration with Phnom Penh police, were manning a checkpoint to inspect vehicles following the new traffic law, and checking for alcohol and weapons, when they detained the two men after finding an AK47 gun in the car.
Police said it was a remodelled AK47 gun made in the Soviet Union in 1965. The car driver, Ly Horang, 25 years old, was arrested, but his brother, who was also in the car, was released because he wasn't involved in the crime.
In his defense, the suspect said, " my godbrother, who is a military officer named Beng Sina, told me to take the gun for him from street 371." The suspect with the evidence was sent to the criminal department for case preparation.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

no expert but that doesnt look like an AK47. modified?
Re: Phnom Penh Police Checkpoint Arrests Man with AK47
It is clearly an AK, they've just replaced the stock, pistol grip and foregrip with shitty, plastic chinese parts to try and make it look gucci...hideous.

Re: Phnom Penh Police Checkpoint Arrests Man with AK47
It's an AK type, unlikely to be an AK47, more likely type 56 or later. Pretty much any AK type gets erroneously reported as an "AK47", this gun just has a bunch of after-market parts on it, mostly plastic junk.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

All the AK class rifles have interchangeable parts. No idea as to the quality, but the folding stock seems to have a thin recoil pad to reduce the felt kick and the fore grip has ridges to make the rifle easier to hold.
Rifles with aftermarket parts are routinely sent with the US Military troops on deployment to try out by various arms companies.

Those appear to be MagPul parts which are high quality and work well on the AK to improve the shitty ergonomics of the weapon.

I agree, Magpul make excellent quality weapon accessories and parts... but in this region I doubt those are original Magpul parts, many companies producing counterfeits, just look at all the "tactical" stores in town and online, especially Alibaba. I would be extremely surprised if they were genuine magpul parts.

I couldn't fault the stock. ??? but the grip and the hand guard are dodgy.PSD-Kiwi wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 8:26 pmI agree, Magpul make excellent quality weapon accessories and parts... but in this region I doubt those are original Magpul parts, many companies producing counterfeits, just look at all the "tactical" stores in town and online, especially Alibaba. Why do you say that? Ever shot a real AK? Full auto? Forend makes a huge difference I'll tell ya from my experience. Looks-wise, it's just a copy of the look on the Russian hunting rifles that are AK basedSternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 8:42 pmI couldn't fault the stock. ??? but the grip and the hand guard are dodgy.PSD-Kiwi wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 8:26 pmI agree, Magpul make excellent quality weapon accessories and parts... but in this region I doubt those are original Magpul parts, many companies producing counterfeits, just look at all the "tactical" stores in town and online, especially Alibaba.
