bokor mountain closed for foreignors
came to kampot from Phnom penh with the intention of cycling up Bokor mountain a few times. Turned off the highway to start climbing and got turned away at a checkpoint. Told me the mountain is only accessible for khmer.

Re: bokor mountain closed for foreignors
Yes, I think the road to Bokor has been closed to foreigners (westerners ?) since around Khmer New Year. ( Almost one month now.) It's probably open for Chinese tour groups who are going to the casino or hotels. (My guess only.) No news of the road opening to other foreigners soon.NormanChomsky wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 1:08 pm came to kampot from Phnom penh with the intention of cycling up Bokor mountain a few times. Maybe cycle to Kep instead ? Good luck.

Re: bokor mountain closed for foreignors
I've been up there three times in past 4 weeks.
They are arbitrarily stopping some foreign folk, depending on whether they are masked up or not.
I've not been bothered, neither have anybody I know.
But definitely stopping some forigeners.

If you have time, you can head along the coast in the other direction and you'll get to the Cardamoms - lots of vertical there.NormanChomsky wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 7:28 pmyes maybe will.....but need a vertical challengeAnchor Moy wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 1:48 pmYes, I think the road to Bokor has been closed to foreigners (westerners ?) since around Khmer New Year. Btw. There is a cycling thread here where you could discuss with fellow cyclists about alternative ideas for a road trip.

Sorry you didn't get to ride up there maybe later you'll get the opportunity,it's a great ride specially when you have a nice warm girl hugging you as your making the turns.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.
