Vietnam War vs Covid-19
Re: Does responsibility for collateral damage from the Wuhan virus compare with other wars such as the Vietnam war?
Will it be more pain or less pain for the US to default on its debt to China? Can they convince the world it’s a one-time event to keep the USD from collapsing? This is one of very few economic bullets they have left.

war is always about money
its not about wining or losing its about making it last longer and sell more machinery
losing is actually more profitable
divide et impera has become divide et lucrum

I've read that China has a lot of debt too? Presumably to themselves.. Just like our reserve banks that buy gov't bonds from freshly printed $$

i think very few govts are flush or in the black, tbh

About a third of US debt is foreign owned with China holding a little under 6%.
Hardly a threat to the reserve currency.

Vietnam War vs Covid-19
It is very sobering to compare the United States Military deaths in the long Vietnam war and those with the current Covid-19 Pandemic. They make for very sober thinking and beg the question, why is the USA not displaying the same passion and anti Covid-19 nation-wide demonstrations as experienced throughout the Vietnam war? Remember Kent State et al?
Vietnam War: US involvement is generally agreed to have started on March, 8th 1965 and to have ended with the "fall"/conquest of Saigon on 30 April 1975.
Statistics: The US military had 47,427 Combat deaths - KIA - Killed in Action and non-combat deaths of 10,785. Not to mention the 153,303 WIA - Wounded in Action and, as at 31 May 2018 the 1,597 MIA - still missing in action.
Covid-19: As at last night 92,258 Deaths and 1.56 million infected. No Purple Hearts here.
Is the next generation of "warfare" not more effectively and economically waged by viruses rather than bombs, bullets and agents orange, white and blue etc.
Thoughts please.

ur country has been taken over by the media long ago
as well as the military industrial corporations
ur govt does what the bankers dictate
however, covid19 has exposed just how vulnerable a Federal democratic system is

HUH:
Are you trying to say that China unleashed the covid virus as a predecessor to war?
Other wise how can you compare a war in Vietnam to covid?
I demonstrated AGAINST Americas involvement in Vietnam back in the 60's
cant see anyone demonstrating against covid

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: Vietnam War vs Covid-19
I think that will become a thing once a virus can be properly targeted (to infect the enemy only, or by already having the cure). That is being worked on, as we already know.Ot Mean Loi wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 3:19 pm Is the next generation of "warfare" not more effectively and economically waged by viruses rather than bombs, bullets and agents orange, white and blue etc.
As things stand, however, the virulent equivalent to "friendly fire" in conventional warfare seems to be too high a price to pay. Especially because there's the risk of uncontrollable spread.
Now, of course the usual suspects will come along and say something about China and WuFlu. I think they might have created it in their infamous lab, but I don't think they've released it deliberately.
