Discussion: What is the purpose of getting married from a male perspective?

What are the benefits of getting married from a male perspective?

From a male point of view, what’s the deal? Any one of you been through the ringer before and can enlighten me on what it’s all about?

Some traditional khmer girls won't give you rites of passage unless you marry them :mrgreen:

Indeed, a bastard would have no legal claim to an estate. But all that harks back to the days of back stair bastards and the like....

Though not all turned out like the now famous GoT bastard with his love of flaying.

It is statistically proven that married men live longer. I didn't say they are happier, but they have a longer life expectancy than single men.

One benefit is to have a higher social status, to earn respect of peers who also value social status over personal freedom.
