MARK ASPINALL Arrested after Pulling Out Gun over Drink Bill in Phnom Penh

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On April 27, 2020, at 11 pm, a Westerner (later named in the local press as MARK ASPINALL) was arrested for brandishing a gun at the bar near Bali resort, Sangkat Ouback Kaom, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

Before the incident, the foreign man went to drink at a bar. When he got his bill, he had no money to pay. The bar owner questioned the Westerner, which made him angry, so he punched the owner. He left the bar and later returned with the money and pointed a gun at people there. The owner then called the police.

After receiving the information from the bar owner, the Royal Gendarmerie went to the scene and arrested him. He was detained at Khan Sen Sok Royal Gendarmerie while they prepared a case.

Strange he took the money and a gun back to the shop. Then again, he does like to drink..

Later news says the foreigner was detained for questioning at Sen Sok district police headquarters, not the Royal Gendarmerie as previously reported.

We are polar opposites in almost every way but we still get on, and i do wish him well.
Not much we can do to help that his buddies cant, they are in a totally different class to any of us.
I reckon he will probably be back - and without so much as a blush.

He suddenly stopped posting a month ago. Was there a reason for that? His last posts were about being stuck "on base."
