MARK ASPINALL Arrested after Pulling Out Gun over Drink Bill in Phnom Penh
Re: MARK ASPINALL Arrested after Pulling Out Gun over Drink Bill in Phnom Penh
Dumb question maybe...
If you have been arrested with no cash or card on you, and the police don't want to release you, how do you bribe anyone? You have no cash for starters, no card to go to an ATM. Will they really take you home to get your card and march you to an ATM?
When in country I always carry 2 cards: one is my medical insurance card if I get in trouble and the card of a lawyer I know for if I really get in trouble. I think the second one gives me more peace of mind.

Is that an assumption or do you know that as a fact?? What’s the source?Marty wrote:He is "in" jail. He is "going" to prison Stiliko.

The source and details are this thread only. 26 pages of great fun talking about a top bloke when sober.

was his gun even loaded?
it could have been much more serious
that's the point of gun control
even the most sober, level headed, emotionally cool individual can miscalculate
with rather dramatic consequences, when they wield lethal force
posts here don't inspire confidence that even the level-headed criteria is being met
in this case, did he come loaded ready shoot, or was it just pantomime?

I dont think i can imagine how utterly, ridiculously, stinkingly hot it was inside a Cambodian prison cell today, or this evening for that matter.
Spare a thought for those top blokes who are spooning each other tonight on a sweaty Prey Sar Prison floor, desperately waiting for the fan to oscillate back their way for that brief 1 second of moving hot air whilst you're comfortably at home laying on the bed with the AC on 16°C blasting the room icy cold with a beer in hand watching some NetFlix. #sarcasm

If you enjoy noise pollution and obnoxious driving practices, Phnom Penh is the place for you!
This.

Sorry, the train for sensible questions left a long time ago. You can join the rabbit hold express if you like, hop aboard.Phnom Poon wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 7:20 pm was his gun even loaded?

It's the rampant Tuberculosis which is more of an issue. Hepatitis, Giardiasis, Dysentry, Salmonella,Typhoid, Dengue Fever and parasites such as Scabies, Ticks, Bed Bugs, Hookworms, Fleas, Lice etc can be a big issue in the confined and unsanitary conditions.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I recall Ricketson listing all these issues (and suffering from them), that and a lack of access to clean condoms.John Bingham wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 12:56 am It's the rampant Tuberculosis which is more of an issue. There's a visible lack of class on this thread.John Bingham wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 12:56 am It's the rampant Tuberculosis which is more of an issue. It seems that the guy in question split opinion on here.
There may be some for all I know who didn't like him but have shown some dignity and decency and kept their counsel, rather than rubbing it in while the man is at his lowest. There are several who seem incapable of any such circumspection, notwithstanding that they know there are others on here reading who like the guy.
Very poor form indeed imo.
