The Curry Club

Discussions about restaurants, cafes, coffee shops or bars in Cambodia. Feel free to write any reviews you have, whether its the best burger you've had in Phnom Penh or the worse pizza in Kampot, we want to read it! Discussions about Khmer dishes are also in here, or you can leave your own. If you own a restaurant, feel free to let the expat community know about it here so that we can come check it out. Found a favorite cafe or have a place we should avoid? Tell us about it. Asian recipes & questions are always welcome.

Yes, a lot of these takeaways never seem to be over-generous with the meat but plenty of sauce.

I hear you. I am always conservative in a Indian/Thai restaurant when they ask me how spicy I would like it. Indian restaurants in Kenya, where I grew up, would totally kill anyone that asked for spicy, it was a game. But here, medium is never spicy enough.

Oh yes.Ahmed's curries. @hanno, if you get to Kampot you should check this guy out. Unpretentious, but delicious food, cheap and generous portions too.
Also highly recommend the beef korma and the chicken saag aloo. (Even the the beef is good. :hattip: )

He moved from the night market to near the Salt workers roundabout this week. He's on Nham24 deliveries.

Message/call me (Jenny) at +85511365741 or Mohammad +855963883328 (phone/WhatsApp/Telegram)

Tbh I have so far only had the chicken curry and roti and both were so good I have just been eating it over and over as I am a creature of habit. The most popular Bengali item is the chicken biryani and we also have an extensive menu of Khmer foods.

^^^

I'm not sure what is worse - the decor of that hotel or the extremely oily curries.

I am worried that if I eat there not only will my stomach protest all the oil; I might also turn permanently blind.
