U.S. Air Force pilot Robert M. White after the last flight of an X-15 with the LR-11 engines. White flew combat missions in southeast Asia, the only X-15 pilot to see active duty in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Back in 2008ish, me and a Navy buddy were drinking at Pechenga Casino after watching Tony Tubbs fight ... met a older gentleman who was a former test pilot with John Glenn and some other big shot pilots ... man, that guy had crazy stories about crashing all these test aircraft out in the Mojave desert.
