A salute to the Avro Vulcan, which 40 years ago today took part in the longest (at the time) bombing raid of all time, over the Falkland Islands. Operation Black Buck succeeded (just) in bombing the runway at Stanley.

First class lounge upstairs on United Airlines Boeing 747′s in 1970. The turtleneck and plaid skirt and jacket worn by the flight attendants were used exclusively by crews working first class on the jumbo jet.

On 3 May 2009 during a "fast taxi" run at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome, Handley Page Victor XM715 (Teasin' Tina) made a brief unplanned flight, reaching about 30 ft (9 m), then carrying out a safe landing before the aircraft could reach the runway threshold.
