All Things Aviation

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

From the source it was done to delight guests during a Tiger Cruise ( a tiger cruise is when civilian family of Navy personnel are allowed on board the ship for a few days)

Some other examples of Naval shenanigans involving autos:

I know this is probably a very dumb question, but why are the intact aircraft grey and rusty but the dismantled ones look like they have been stripped back to bare metal. If it is being done for scrap metal, why bother?

Possibly (I don’t recall clearly)

The intact aircraft may actually still be carrying camouflage schemes, relevant to an older era, possibly rendered obsolete by age and fit of the airframes.
The dismantled aircraft may have been active airframes more recently.

Weren’t such aircraft limited under arms treaties, and demonstrably damaged beyond repair, or otherwise rendered unusable?

50 Years Ago (November 24, 1971) A man calling himself "Dan Cooper" hijacks Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, claims he has a bomb, extorts $200,000 cash, and parachutes into the Washington wilderness during a thunderstorm.
