From the source it was done to delight guests during a Tiger Cruise ( a tiger cruise is when civilian family of Navy personnel are allowed on board the ship for a few days)

Possibly (I don’t recall clearly)
The intact aircraft may actually still be carrying camouflage schemes, relevant to an older era, possibly rendered obsolete by age and fit of the airframes.
The dismantled aircraft may have been active airframes more recently.
Weren’t such aircraft limited under arms treaties, and demonstrably damaged beyond repair, or otherwise rendered unusable?
