W.H.O. Caught in a Superpower Struggle
Re: W.H.O. Caught in a Superpower Struggle
China lied, people died and the WHO joined in. They can go find their 500 million dollars a year they get from us, elsewhere.

A very carefully written article that has some good points about Trump, and even the WHO, but says zero about China's influence on the WHO, and omits the real problems going on in the organisation: widespread corruption, the use of anti-Taiwan rhetoric, and mismanagement of funds! Trump is being a right fuckwit, but don't give WHO a free card here, they need to be reformed.

Yeah... I think we can all guess the outcome of trying to use The International Court of Justice to hold China to account.

Sen. Banks (R-IN) comments on the bill introduced a few days ago by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) which would allow Americans to sue Beijing in U.S. federal court for “death, injury, and economic harm caused by the Wuhan Virus.
Given China's refusal to even co-operate in the 2013-2016 PCA (Permanent Court of Arbitration) by The Republic of Philippines v. The People's Republic of China - The South China Sea Arbitration.

Now, while it is generally agreed that money from China (the BRI) is soaked in corruption the politicians on the receiving end need to maintain peace and social order in their respective countries. One country may not stand a chance if they decide to stand up to China but what if all the African countries decided to default on their debts and refuse to hand over what-ever it was they agreed to put up as collateral to get the loan. Anti-Chinese sentiment across the world is spreading as citizens realise their governments have sold them out.
Then there is Japan who has recently stated it wants to tempt manufacturers to relocate their plants in Japan. What if, globally, manufacturers relocated to other countries?
The prospect of social unrest in China increases. And then there's Taiwan, and the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.
For too long China has been snubbing its nose at the world with its "we're special so that doesn't apply to us" attitude.... the Paris Climate Agreement comes to mind regarding this.
China's position was every one else should take heed but they could continue building coal powered power stations.
A reckoning is coming and how it plays out is anyone's guess, but China may not be able to buy their way out of this one.
