How long before air travel returns?

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Australia and NZ will persist with this isolation strategy longer than most, imo.
because they know how well it works - combined with community wide general support for lock-downs. good testing, good case tracking.
And because they do not see the premature deaths of 10s of thousands of the elderly as acceptable "die-offs".
( not saying anybody does - but that is effectively the trade off, and OZ/NZ are stronger than most on this issue)

Aust deaths 67 (3% of USA rate/head of pop. 1% of UK rate)
NZ deaths 11 ( even less ^^)
A much harder question for those countries where it has already established a firm foothold tho'. Much harder.

Personally i reckon,
Forget waiting for an effective vaccine, that will be too late for the economy, and for most people to wait.
Treatment, even partly effective treatment, will blow the need for harsh measures out of the water.
and that will probably come before too long.
(fingers crossed)
Relying on herd immunity would be a reckless gamble at this point, imo - given the valid doubts about whether this will apply to this particular virus. There are already some indications that like other coronaviruses, it will not be a very strong immunity.

All i know is that there are Americans who are threatening civil unrest in the USA if the coronavirus scare continues for too long.

I also do not see people willing to stay home for long and will be demanding their government to open up again. The only people in the US who are happy with the economic shut down are liberals who hate Trump and hate capitalism. Americans will not likely tolerate this for long.
The other major problem the world faces is that when I do not have anything to occupy my time I start thinking more often than I normally do. For the last three years I had something that would occupy my time and spent my resources on. Now I am dealing with surplus time and surplus resources. Minecraft and skyrim can only occupy 15 minutes of my time before I start becoming antsy.

Would be good if you would think "more than you normally do" before you post. This is not twitter. We do not need to know your every thought, every minute. Your posts are all about YOU, no matter what topic you comment on.
You are not on lockdown. Go and get some fresh air. Get a hobby. Find a girlfriend. :please:

Air Asia are now showing flights from KL to PNH as from 1st June. I assume they know something that we don't regarding travel restrictions into the KOW? Only $24 as well :D

I doubt they "know" anything. They've got to raise money somehow...

Most airlines are running a cash to coupon business these days.

Had a flight coming up at the end of May, Phnom Penh - Shenzhen - Bangkok. All segments cancelled, have been offered a coupon.

Just lovely, all those coupons...
