Kiwi looking to move to south east asia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. if you are a good chef most of the world will be happy to welcome you. Plenty of good paying jobs. Hundreds of jobs platforms exist. No need to invest and open up an own restaurant as salary will be enough to live a happy life anywhere in SEA. Start with the 5 star hotels with attached restaurants and send out CV's to anywhere you like to live your new life. PS: those jobs require long hours and dedication to the job.

If you are a so-so chef you will still find a job in most countries, but probaby not making the big bucks and live middleclass in best of cases. Best option here is to walk in and have a chat with the owner hoping to convice him to give you a chance. "Normal" job with routine.Probably get bored after some time as every day will be Groundhod Day (very nice movie).

If you are a lousy chef (but think you are great) you must find a different solution because you will lose both jobs above and have to reinvent yourself.
work is for people who cant find truffles

Forget the breeding reptiles , Most of the Cambodian reptiles are illegal to export. those that arent are already saturated with dealers.

Mate, on one hand the market seems very saturated (loads of pet shops in PP) but on the other hand, everyone seems to have pets so demand must be huge. A gf asked me once if she could get a dog, i said ok and nek minnit she had 3 puppies in the house.
I’d go on the various shops’ FB pages and check what they are carrying. Perhaps you can find out if your NZ products would have a market then.

It would be interesting to sell possum meat here. NZ Tree Bear would sell well with the Chinese and would be a big demand for those private parts , dried or as a powder addition to those special soups.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.

Chur Bro!

Here's some business ideas for you;

- Proper home-made pie shop...there are NO half decent meat pies to be found in Cambodia. Could combine this with a real fish-n-chip shop too.
- Feijoa farm (no idea whether growing them here is actually possible, maybe up North in the mountainous regions where temperatures are a bit cooler?) - this would obviously require money & time
- Mr Whippy van - I reckon one of these would do a roaring trade
