8 Chinese Passengers Rescued from Sinking Boat Off Sihanoukville

Cambodia News, Sihanoukville: Oknha Tea Vichit sent a speed boat out to rescue a longboat of Chinese tourists who were in difficulties off Snake Island, Sihanoukville. Heavy rains and high winds had damaged the boat's engine, leaving it drifting and in danger of sinking.

There were 10 people on board the boat: eight Chinese passengers and a Cambodian driver and his crewman. All were rescued and taken to safety.

where were they off to I wonder? I though all travel to the islands was banned for now?

Chinese + Sihanoukville + Sinking ships sure is a good metaphor for the place these days sadly

Travel ban is only for Khmer and barangs, if Chinese it's ok

Probably the offer for the boat trip was too good to be renounced. Money (or the lack of) makes people do crazy things.
