The preliminary unofficial autopsy results for British tourist Christina Annesley, whose body was found dead inside a bungalow room on Koh Tao, showed no signs of physical violence or sexual abuse, chief...of the Institute of Forensic Medicine said on Sunday. Pol Maj Gen Dr Pornchai Sutheerakhun was speaking after a three-hour autopsy of Annesley at the institute at Police General Hospital in Bangkok to... to determine the cause of her death.
“The examination found no injury marks or traces of physical assault [to Annesley’s body],” Pol Maj Gen Dr Pornchai said.
The autopsy team could not officially conclude... the cause of death yet as they had to wait for the result of toxicology tests, which will not be known until Monday evening at the earliest, he said.
The 23-year-old backpacker was found dead inside... a bungalow room at the InTouch Resort on Koh Tao on Wednesday night. Her death occurred just four months after two young Britons were found murdered on the same beach.
In some of the many tweets she posted... while on Koh Tao, Annesley had complained of a chest infection. She also said she was taking Tramadol, a powerful painkiller, while drinking.

Not sure of the facts of this particular case, but that same police official predicted long before the autopsy that no evidence of foul play would be found. Thai officials need to learn to shut the fuck up. Everytime they open their mouths they say something regrettable.
What is it with young Brits on Koh Tao? If that is the type of tourists the island attracts, that as much of a reason to avoid the place than the murders.

I think, with this initial observation results from the body they wanted to make clear, there was no rape involved, this time...

Re: Koh Tao - Death Island or What?
I was talking to an Italian lady single traveller, in her late 40's I would guess, in my guesthouse in Siem Reap the other week. I asked her where she was heading next and she said Koh Tao or Chiang Mai. When I mentioned about recent deaths she looked a bit alarmed and googled it. I wonder how many people go to places in blissful ignorance of what the recent news on a place is. I always do a bit of research ahead of a visit. It's so easy on the net.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

This 23 yr old girl certainly didn't die of natural causes as listed, but her family is OK w/that finding & I understand why. It was some kind of drug interaction probably. She also admitted to gobbling Valiums along w/the Tramadol on FB. Benzos like Vals or Xanax w/alcohol can bring on the dirt nap. It kills a lot of people every year.
Re: Koh Tao - Death Island or What?
her travels, and what has been posted about her or by her doesn't indicate, she was after drugs or would handle the stuff irresponsible.
she took tramadol, perhaps a few valium, and antibiotics worth GBP 60, what indicates a rather expensive thing, as you wouldn't get prescribed any many of them.
the tramadol she took together with an alcopop, obviously, concluding from some posting on social media she made.
but even when taken all of that together, its not fatal. normally. imo.
she was found with "blood in her face".
nosebleeding?
the doctor certainly advised her about the tramadol-dosage.
and after that few days, it shouldn't have build up in the body or what, any much...
what is not know, what her infection was about.

also, as reported, she was found by staff, because she didn't check-out.
means, it was a travel-day ahead, and unlikely, she would have indulged in any binge-drinkings or what that night.
she had to leave the room probably before 11 am.

Not necessarily. I always get hammered the night before travel day. It makes it easier to sleep, especially long haul flights.

Small girl, empty stomach, 3 Vals, 5 or 6 drinks = adios muchacha. A million years ago my gf's roomate dropped dead w/only 10mgs & 3 or 4 drinks in her according to the coroner. Her heart rate slowed to the point that she stopped breathing. There was nothing else in her stomach.
Re: Koh Tao - Death Island or What?
Tramadol is still available over the counter in Thailand. It's a good pain killer IMHO but of course using anything strong with booze who knows.potty wrote: the doctor certainly advised her about the tramadol-dosage..
Students die in spring break parties every year in the USA. It's not so unusual in a "back packer" zone as drugs seem rampant.
