My prediction -
decimation of normal activities, destruction of normal business, radical changes to everyday life, a total re-ordering of the human landscape
and the magnificent, indestructible, Cambodian Road Dividers will rise supreme.

Is this it? Is this the abomination of desolation?

I am currently in the U.S. in Florida.I haven't seen any less traffic on the road since the lockdown started. However the stores are taking precautions and even the vet clinic requires people to stay in their auto and am employees comes and gets the pet from the car.I have a beachfront home and the beach is empty because the county has closed all of the beaches.I still see people taking walks and life is pretty normal other then the way that we shop or go to medical appointments.I don't allow visitors to my home however I have noticed that my neighbors seem to be more open to that.I am at a higher risk of dying if I catch it so I am not going to take foolish chances. My wife is Cambodian and we worry more about her family members catching it then we do ourselves.I think that Cambodia might reach pandemic levels within the next couple of weeks. If Cambodia does suffer a terrible pandemic I think that being an expat stranded in Cambodia can get to be pretty uncomfortable pretty quick,I rather doubt if the average expat will have a clue about what the medical personnel know about their case or even when they can expect to be discharged if they end up in a hospital in Cambodia.

old fat, x-florida myself. fyi I just checked worldometers.info and cambodia show zero deaths and only 57 active cases. In a population of 16 million people, I'd say a pandemic level is not going to happen.

That sort of goes to my original post question about the cambodian govt's reaction, and that of the people.

It's an interesting point. Population of Cambodia $16,718,956 and Senegal with an almost exact population of $16,743,927 has had 237 cases, 2 deaths and 105 recoveries.

Not many answers to the posters original question - what is the current situation in Cambodia?

In Siem Reap things are kind of normal EXCEPT: there are NO tourists and almost all hotels, restaurants, bars etc are closed. Consequently very large numbers of people have lost their jobs and large numbers have no money. I believe in a few months civil unrest is a real possibility. There is no lockdown. Some people wear masks - many do not. Traffic is less than usual. Markets and supermarkets are generally well stocked but have few customers. With low season coming even if the hysteria dies down there is little likelihood of much improvement until the next high season starting around December.

I know a doctor working with coronavirus cases in Phnom Penh. He says they are not overstretched but staff are not allowed to leave the hospital. In the previous few days they have been discharging patients and not had new cases.
