Private companies such as Serco, Sitel, and Capita are among those awarded contracts to run the programme.2

It perhaps wasn’t the best in terms of timing, but hey, if there was nothing to offend people, life would be inherently more boring lol
So, the BBC, the most woke of all media outlets, decides to join in the ridicule of an advert as it gives them a chance to criticise the Tory government. However, this is exactly the type of woke crap the BBC would come up with themselves for one of their drama shows; 'Fat Fatima from Bradford wants to be a professional ballet dancer but is prevented by racist, sexist and classist fascists in the ballet hierarchy'

Indeed, they even got a quote from the shadow mental health minister (yes, we have one of them - didn't you know?) which perfectly proves this point:
Shadow mental health minister Dr Rosena Allin-Khan tweeted: "Fatima, you be you. Don't let anyone else tell you that you aren't good enough because you don't conform to their preconceived social norms."
She clearly doesn't understand her brief very well but her name does fit nicely into the woke sub text.

You show me a female ballet dancer that is actually called Fatima, and I will find you an unbiased and balanced BBC journalist.

Last night the BBC news run a short story about the asylum seekers /migrant camp that burnt down on a greek Island recently. They have arrested
6 afghans and it seems an open and shut case BUT. The BBC suggested that it may have been started by the far right. The only evidence they have is a statement by somebody who said " I saw a man throw a burning rag into a tent, he wasn't from the camp as I know everybody here" the camp housed several thousand people !

In spite of the UK's blithering incompetence at times, and the absolute shitshow that was all aspects of the previous parliament, my take is that the EU have been absolute wankers on this.

One good thing at least if this happens is that the French can fuck their precious fishing rights.

Edit: btw respect to the Irish Taeshoc (sp?) for not stirring the shit like the previous guy. At least someone in all this had some dignity.

I have to say that I have been banging on about this for some time. Once you can have 1 hour or less testing at airports, and once other governments accept them as satisfactory, the airline and tourism sector could start opening up very quickly indeed.
This is very good news for those wishing to travel.

A vaccine would be a nice Christmas present too. Come on Santa!

You'd surely still have to quarantine when you get there as it could have been caught at airport/plane and not showing yet.

Will only marginally help

The proportion of younger adults who admit to flouting Covid-19 restrictions has increased in the past fortnight to more than one in six, according to a poll.

In a worrying sign for ministers, the latest Opinium poll for the Observer showed the proportion of 18 to 34-year-olds who admitted breaking the rules has increased from 10% to 17% in the last fortnight. The proportion of 35 to 44-year-olds increased even more sharply – from 10% to 18% over the same period.

While the poll showed the overwhelming majority were complying with the regulations, the figures came as infections continue to rise ahead of a winter predicted to be very difficult for the NHS to manage.

The survey also revealed that the public’s approval of the government’s handling of the coronavirus crisis has dropped to its lowest levels since polling began. Currently, 50% disapprove of the government’s handling of the crisis, while 29% approve, down from 31% two weeks ago.
