UK News, Updates and Discussion
Re: UK News, Updates and Discussion
They should seriously look at Mexico or Colombia. They have opened up now, the food is much better, beer is quite cheap, weather is warm and most British piss artists know a bit of basic Spanish from their Benidorm adventures. There is also a bit of fun to be had, just nothing like Soi 6.Cowshed Cowboy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 8:20 amShouldn't be too long before natural ice is on the street.
Bad enough for my mates they can't get to Thailand for their normal 5 month break to avoid the hypothermia that is the Scottish winter, now it looks like they can't go out for a pint or invite mates round the house to watch the game. Poor bastards Just waiting for a nice sunny beachfront evening to send them a beer sundowner selfie.

One of them hasn't been anywhere other than Pattaya for the last 30 winters, to say he is a creature of habit is an understatement. He's not averse to Mexican food as long as it's in Sue's Place Soi 13. Getting him to go on a road trip to Buriram was a major step out of his comfort zone. . The other is a seasoned expat through work and breaks his trips with time in Bali, but of course they seem to be in equal dire straights entry wise like Cambodia and Thailand.Doc67 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 12:02 pmThey should seriously look at Mexico or Colombia. I think they'd better get the soup on the go.

It perhaps wasn’t the best in terms of timing, but hey, if there was nothing to offend people, life would be inherently more boring lolpopping in wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:19 pm What the HELL is this about now ??

As usual the Highlands are unique. We were cut off snow wise for 3 weeks in 1975 and the army landed helicopters with essential supplies just in front of our mansion/castle. Toasting bread on a 4 burner freezing our nuts off and digging our way out of 7 foot snow drifts.
Absolutely brilliant. No internet, no facebook. We had a radio and that was it. What a great place and adventure to grow up in as a kid.

You're a better man than me, 14 years is more than Jimmy Boyle spent in Peterhead. I lived in Grantown for 5 years but you realise the small town mentality and envy that exists. I moved to southern England at 15 and it was even worse. Luckily the Vietnamese boat people in my school were the main targets for the skinheads, not the token Jock. I respect the Vietnamese for what I saw then.
I've never regretted leaving the UK, I found it a very rascist and backward place when and where I grew up. I get the impression it's got worse, blame the poles, the muslims, brexit, Covid, . They're running out of excuses for the place they've created.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.
