Entertainment List for the Bored and Stuck at Home

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Here are some recommendations for those who need something.

Reading:
Scribd: about $9.00 a month unlimited books and audio books great selection perfect for an avid reader I haven't found anything that can compare.

Novel Updates: I like cheap (storywise its all free) web novels

Library: If you have a library card lots of books you can borrow online now.

Kindle: Eh its okay but it's $10 and not as good as Scribd or even what I could borrow from a digital libary

Music:
Spotify free with commercials lots of podcasts and music to listen to

Gaming:
Steam: PC gaming store last week they gave away one of the Laura Croft games for free which I grabbed and they have daily sales.

Watching
Youtube: all kinds of content for free something for everyone
Tiktok: Addictive 15-60 second videos of all types

Arts and Crafts
Knitting is very soothing its slightly meditative

Coloring is relaxing tons of adult coloring books available

Don't think you can install Spotify here yet unless you nip over to Vietnam quickly, install it, and come back.

Epic might still have World War Z for free, but it was kinda shit anyway
If you enjoy noise pollution and obnoxious driving practices, Phnom Penh is the place for you!

San Francisco's Internet Archive have opened a free "National Emergency Library" during the crisis, with nearly 1.5 million books in it. Best use it now, as apparently publishers and writers are getting all salty about it:

Tiktok has some real problems with privacy, and censorship. Personally it's not for me, just to put a different opinion out there.
up to you...

This is a great thread idea. Thanks for starting it.
Do you think the parents of baby boomers whined so much when the boomers started changing society? And yet the whiney ones like to call young people "snowflakes." Hmm...

Digital scrapbooking is huge - there are millions of free resources online.
Making Memories has excellent software.
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

If you are a fan of fantasy similar to Game of Thrones and a reader, I suggest trying books from Brandon Sanderson- The Way of Kings and Mistorn series are must-reads, Ryan Anthony - Tower Lord. Awesome books that can be found free online.
Still here, in country...

Curiositystream has a discount on now "stayin40" comes to $12.99 for the year. If you are interested in science documentaries, I highly recommend it. They have other types as well, but I don't watch.
