But the good news is in round 3
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Can you name one? the only positive I can think of is the end of the british empire, but I am not convinced it was justifeid by the negativesfazur wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 7:10 amim an optimist clearly you are not

WW2 was terrible, but you are saying not one positive thing came out of it?
and i never said it was all good news, very little about it is good news you should not put words in my mouth

My post was for all of you social medicine green new dealers who are not happy with murdering a 300 million babies ...You want to wipe out the entire elderly and infirm population with more precision than the Final Solution.
You dickwads know who you are.
You can see the rainbow at the end of the storm.
You can smell the roses.
You can find the silver lining.

No global war between major powers since then. The UN allows every nation to get whatever it wants off it’s chest and breaks the chain of secret alliances that triggered World War I, occupation of Poland, etc.pczz wrote:Can you name one? the only positive I can think of is the end of the british empire, but I am not convinced it was justifeid by the negatives
Expansion of global trade. Massive increase in the prosperity of the everyone in general. Massive increase in the world population. Increase in living standards and life expectancy overall.
The nation of Israel and realization of rampant anti-Semitism in the world. Stable world economy due to the dollar becoming a common currency. Rockets leading to satellites and GPS. Jet engines leading to international travel. Computers leading to the internet. Radar leading to microwave ovens and pre-crash vehicle warning systems. English becoming a lingua franca of trade and exchange of ideas.
Before World War 2, the average Brit or Yank taking off to Cambodia to teach English would be unthinkable, and financially unsustainable.
Before the virus hit, teaching a foreigner English paid better than being a physician in the Kingdom of Wonder.
Re: possible benefits of pandemic
I wonder also how many of these physicians you mention are genuinely trained and qualified has you would expect in the Kingdom of Wonder.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 8:11 ampczz wrote:Can you name one? the only positive I can think of is the end of the british empire, but I am not convinced it was justifeid by the negatives

Always "hope" but never "expect".

biological weapons
Re: possible benefits of pandemic
This event has exposed enormous stupidity at different levels of society. Good way to know what to expect if any kind of shit hits the fan again and who to deal with and who to stay far away from in the future. Reason has been in short supply since this started, not that it’s a surprise, but this perfectly explains all the shtf events of the past. So, a kind of educational value in this pandemic. Now we know for sure that toilet paper will disappear first.

I can think of a few selfish ones, but they're too horrible to say on here.
I will admit Liverpool not winning the Premier League title would be absolutely awesome.
